Sunset Duckies / Project Molt
Brand and community model
Assessment · Tamarin proof of concept
1. What Tamarin proves
What community already exists: people, place, routines, relationships and local leadership?
What does Sunset Duckies add today?
Which parts are specific to Tamarin, and which parts might travel?
2. The microcommunity lifecycle
Readiness: what must already exist before Sunset Duckies joins a new place?
Start: what does Sunset Duckies provide, and what does the local group provide?
Handover: which roles, decisions, assets, accounts and relationships move to local hands?
After handover: what stays shared, and what does the local community run alone?
3. The split between shared and local
What must stay common across the Sunset Duckies brand?
What does each community control: name, activities, stories, products, money, approvals?
Who owns the relationships, content, data, accounts and physical assets?
What can a community change without asking Sunset Duckies?
4. The product and value options
What job does the product do for the customer and for the brand?
Which work can happen locally, who does it, and how are they paid and credited?
Compare the value options: paid local work, contribution per sale, revenue share, shared fund, hybrid.
Who carries cost and stock risk?
Who receives value, when and why?
Do not select the money model before testing product economics and community needs.
5. Club and product business
Which structure do we recommend and why: one operation or two connected operations?
What may be shared: name, story, audience, people and activities?
What must stay separate: accounts, costs, stock, decisions and liabilities?
What counts as product revenue and cost?
What counts as club or event money?
If product money supports club equipment or activities, who approves it, how is it calculated and how is it reported?
During the test, product revenue pays for making and selling the product. Any club contribution is a separate recorded decision, not an automatic use of product money.
6. Sustainability
Financial: how can the local community and central brand each afford their role?
Social: who leads locally, how does leadership change, and how are children safeguarded?
Operational: what must keep working after handover?
Environmental: what product, production and shipping standards apply?
7. What the next community tests
What Tamarin has proven
What remains a Tamarin assumption
What should the next community be asked to challenge?
Use evidence from Tamarin. Leave out global claims the first proof has not earned.
