Notes for the day
- Surf check by 10:00 — confirm go/no-go. If surf is too big, drop to Duckling-only and shorten heats.
- Mid-event break matters. 4.5 hours is long for little kids — food, dry layer, unstructured play, or the second half falls apart.
- Water marshals rotate every hour. Bench the burnt-out marshal during the break.
- Photographer covers every heat. One hero shot per kid is the goal.
